This Space Ship is Far Out!

 The next escape room location that my group and I did was at:

I found this location on Groupon and found a pretty good deal. However, I called them to book the room in advance and they gave me a promotional code that I will share with you at the end of this review!

The Room - Live Escape Room LA in Los Angeles, CA (North Hollywood) has two options to choose from:

The group that I was with this time around was (Bryan, Kenny, Joanne, and Jun). We decided to try our luck in the Spaceship.
The Spaceship
The Spaceship had ~34.8% escape rate at the time we went. It was the easier room of the two. Basically, the escape room was about finding a spaceship where we needed to find out what happened to previous members.

The Description
In 2013, NASA sent the USS Conquest on the first manned mission to a galaxy other than our own. Radio silence was expected, but it came as a shock when The Conquest sent a transmission saying they had found life. When NASA frantically sent the ship countless follow-up transmissions, there was no response. To no surprise, none of this was ever made known to the public.


The year is now 2023. You and your fellow astronauts have been sent on a classified mission to either rescue The Conquest or make contact. Upon entering the unknown galaxy, countless lost transmissions from The Conquest are received. You manage to locate the ship on the third planet from the foreign galaxy’s sun, Planet Zoe. Unfortunately, while landing on the planet you hit a boulder and crash the ship, permanently damaging it. You and your team have 60 minutes to power the emergency generator in the USS Conquest, find out what happened to its crew, and launch back to Earth before you are taken aboard a seemingly-hostile craft. Can you solve the mystery of the USS conquest and make it back to Earth in time?

The Good
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at the Room - Live Escape Room LA. The set design for the room really felt like you were in a spaceship! In addition, the set was very busy and filled with loads of distractions.

Another aspect that caught the eye of our team was the use of technology and all of the props in the room. It felt very realistic and paid homage to a true spaceship. Also, the music in the second half of the escape room felt very immersive.

We did manage to escape with three and a half minutes to spare. We were given three hints which we used and they were also kind enough to throw us a couple of hints along the way.

The Room for Improvement
First, some of the clues and hints were strange and pretty difficult to uncover. We were able to find the items rather quickly. However, we became lost in what we had to do with these items.
Another aspect that was rather challenging was some of the parts in the actual spaceship did not work. For example, we were given a hearing device that had to be plugged in and it did not work. 

Lastly, there were way too many distractions on the main panel of the spaceship. Again, our group felt really lost as to what was what. They could have done a better job in labeling some of the sections better with better lighting/text.

Overall Rating
The theme of the room was very well executed and it took us into outer space. Our group was very impressed with how realistic the design looked. Despite, the strange hints/clues, malfunctioning devices, and distractions, we found this room to be very enjoyable!
My overall rating of this room would be: 4/5. What made this room very enjoyable for our group was the fact that we all felt inspired by the room. However, we did feel like there are some areas where the room could be improved on and would easily make this room jump up to a 4.5 or 5.

Final Thoughts
I would definitely recommend this room and the location for newbies and escape room enthusiasts alike! We definitely would come back to try The Cabin as it is their most difficult room.
